Juicing For Beauty

Do you remember “Latika” — the fresh-faced young girl from the Slumdog Millionaire movie?

Today that young girl, 28-year-old Freida Pinto, is one of Hollywood’s most sought after beauty queens and is the face of L’Oreal cosmetics.

In an interview last year, she was asked to reveal her beauty secret. Her answer? Freshly extracted vegetable juices.

Being a “beauty ambassador” for L’Oreal, perhaps she can help amplify the message Hallelujah Acres has been delivering for a long time: beauty truly comes from the inside out.

Freshly extracted vegetable juices benefit the body by feeding the cells with the power of living enzymes, which helps the body heal itself in part by strengthening the organs. Most people forget that the skin is the largest organ in the body — it only makes sense that the goodness fresh juices offer would benefit this part of the body, too.

Virtually all of the nutrition in vegetables is contained in the juice of the vegetable, held together by vegetable fiber. Fiber is important to keep the digestive system operating normally, but the juice is where the magic is.

Juicing separates the vegetable juice from the fiber, concentrating the vegetable’s nutrients. For example, because an 8 oz glass of carrot juice requires juicing 1 pound of carrots, you’re getting all the benefit of a whole pound of carrots in that one little glass.

Since your body doesn’t have to digest all of the fiber, the nutrients in the juice can go directly to your cells to begin healing, restoring, and strengthening the entire body. In effect, strong healthy skin cells result in a great complexion.

According to the beauty experts, the best juices for feeding the skin are carrot, apple, celery, parsley, spinach, red beets. Although wheatgrass juice is also on the list, we recommend BarleyMax instead.

BarleyMax is the juice of young barley grass leaves grown in deep, rich volcanic lakebed soil. Because of these richer, slower growing conditions, BarleyMax offers more nutrition and a much better taste and than typical indoor-grown wheatgrass.

So do something good for your outside — put some juice inside!
